Water protection, water saving management and value chain solutions in eastern Germany

Our cross visit shows solutions for water protection along the entire value chain and offers climate adaptation strategies from the field to the consumer. We shed light on the topic from the perspective of the farmer, research and agricultural technology.

 
What you can expect from this cross visit
  • Visit the Organic Field Days: Big trade fair of the organic sector with more than 130 exhibitors, covering all topics of organic farming (2025 with the focus on water protection)
  • The group will be received in the area of the German Research fundig agency (Bundesprogramm Ökologischer Landbau, BÖL), managed by FiBL
  • Farm visit: water-saving management on dry locations, soil fertility, conversion
  • Research for cultivation of alternative crops and their regional processing Enhance Key Competences and Trust Building
  • Exchange with other Advisors in Europe and Germany
 
Registration

You will be asked to provide some personal information, a brief description of your interest in joining this visit and your capacity in covering your travel costs. Participation is not guaranteed, because the number of advisors who may join the visit is limited. Participants taking part will receive a confirmation message.

Requirements

Participation to the entire cross visit program. There is no possibility to arrive later or leave earlier, except for local participants.

 
Participants

Agricultural advisor supporting organic farmers or farmers in conversion and advisors or young graduates willing to gain competences in organic advice are welcome to join this cross visit. Maximum 20 participants.

 

 
Travel costs

In case you do not have budget to cover your travel costs, the project advisory partner in your respective country can reimburse part of your travel costs. Eligible countries for cost reimbursement are FR, DE, IT, BG,EE, DK, AT, CH, HU, ES,PT, HR, RO, IE, NL, SE, FI, CZ, PL, GR, SI, RS.

Eligible costs for reimbursement are transport (train, flight, car), accommodation (3 nights), social lunch and dinners, up to a limit of 400-800 EUR/participant. Travel as cheap as possible to enable other participants to take part.

Once your participation to the cross visit is confirmed, you will receive more detailed information by the advisory project partner in your country about the conditions for cost reimbursement.

Costs during the Cross Visit are estimated at 500 EUR including for breakfasts, social lunch & dinner as well as the accommodation for 3 nights. In addition there are costs of 50 EUR for the travel to and the entrance for the Organic field days (27EUR, 19 EUR) and the Museum (5 EUR). This estimation does not include the food and transport expenses to reach Halle.
